Type of Projects that Qualify for SR&ED

If you have been involved in any of the following activities, your company may qualify for SR&ED:

• Performing new computer software development or hardware development and have encountered technological challenges.
• Combining or using existing technology in new ways.
• Improving an existing process or developing a new manufacturing process.
• Developing a product or software that is innovative, more efficient, less expensive, or more robust than existed before.
• Creating prototypes.
• Projects with failures or unexpected problems that needed to be resolved.
• Projects necessitating multiple designs, design models or alternate courses of action to address the technological problems.
